WRITING COACHING
I have worked with a wide range of people, from 16+ adult returners to education and individuals who are applying to university completing personal statements as well as expression statements for employment and writing their first ever CV. I have also worked with individuals who are unemployed and trying to refocus their career and apply for new jobs.
Working in a Further Education College, my role as a personal tutor, programme manager and Lecturer was to support my students to apply for either university or employment or further work experience.
Whilst working at the University of Liverpool, I would take groups of people through the Windmills Career Development programme; a holistic careers management programme looking at your entire life and discovering your passions. This included groups of Foundation Doctors, Matrons, Civil Service Staff and Women's Groups.

I have built up a vast resource of activities and exercises that really enable you to shine on paper, at interview and also during your presentations.
With my background and training in counselling and coaching, I support you through your decisions and gently nudge answers out of you, building up your confidence as you go. Whether you're applying to university, refocusing your entire career, or need help and support writing your CV and application forms, we can always find a way to work with each other. For Writing Coaching: what works well is a combination of Skype/Telephone and Email communication. If you're in Liverpool, we can also meet in person! Skype for initial discussion and setting the goals, followed by Email discussion, support and assessment. |

You send me your personal statement, (university or job), along with the job description and/or your university choices.
I critique and assess your words, returning it with comments and an email outlining my suggestions and recommendations. We then have two further emails to ask questions relating to the comments and recommendations.

This is the Bronze package plus ONE further critique of your personal statement or job application statement. You make your changes and send back the amended statement for me to assess and critique and send back to you again.

If you're in the very first stages of deciding on your university choices, applying for new careers, or beginning to write your CV from scratch or your personal statement from the beginning, this is the option for you.
We have one Skype meeting at the start, where I ask questions relating to your statement/application. I advise on activities and we communicate via email for one month; You will be asked to gather, collect, prepare and answer questions and be guided to write your statement. You then send this to me so that I can critique and assess it. On making recommendations and suggestions, you make changes and return it to me for critique and assessing again. You will gain much support from me.
