The Secret Wedding Favours Project - a sneak preview; how my illustrations captured 60 guests

Some of you may know that I have been secretly, for the past year, been illustrating wedding guests.

If you don't, then let me just fill you in on a little background history.

A year ago, Sarah and Matt popped into the shop where I was working in Lancashire as they had heard from the bridal shop that an artist worked there.

They began to ask whether I would be interested in illustrating all 60 of their guests as 'Wedding Favours'.

Of course, I was eager to give this project a go because I just love illustrating people, drawing portraits and whilst I'm at it, infusing each illustration with Reiki healing symbols.

Over the past year, Sarah has sent me documents in batches of 10, giving me photographs of all her guests.  As this was a secretive project, none of the guests (apart from her mum and dad) knew about this and it was a huge task for her to find these images, and pinpoint their eye colour.

I loved doing these.  It was such a wonderful project to be involved in and last weekend, they got married!

Now I can finally talk about it and share the images.

Usually, I'm drawing women, but these were pretty equal and it was wonderful to draw men too.

After the wedding ceremony, all the guests were guided into the room, where the table was laid.  On everyone's plate was an envelope and inside their illustration.

The room erupted into giggles and laughter, while everyone was running from table to table to see what their friends and family looked like.

Everyone told me that it just created a gorgeous fun like atmosphere.

I was invited to the evening celebration and I took along my trusty sidekick TC to help me and my video camera to capture some of the responses from the guests about how they felt when their image was revealed.

There's lots more to share and I'm just coming back down to earth with the reveal.

So here is a sample sneak preview......
