For the past four years I have chosen a word for the year - this tends to happen towards the end of December, when I find small snapshots of time to reflect on the year that is leaving and visualise the kind of year that is approaching. Last year my word was Release and boy, it was a releasing kind of year. Releasing my online Journeys:
Releasing Emotional Baggage Releasing Product - The Muse Mantra Deck Birthed Releasing my first collection of work in the flesh at Hobbycraft Aintree. I could go on about the Releasing!
This year, like last and the one before, I turned to Susannah Conway's Unravelling the Year Ahead 2015. I adore her style, it's gentle, not blarey-garey, it's simple, and deeply thought provoking, nudging me to really dig in about my year that has gone and the year that appears. This year the graphics are all by Jo at The Darling Tree, which I just mush over. Susannah offered a free 5 day course called 'Find Your Word'. Let me say. I loved it. Again, simple, yet guiding prompts - similar in truth to what I do naturally, yet a beautiful structure and a group of gorgeously supportive women in a private Facebook group - all doing the same thing but in varying stages. So what word appeared to me? TingleVery early on it sprung onto the page
Even writing it now, I feel a tingle because I know it is spot on for me. I love this word, the moment she jumped on the page. Tingle is how I want 2015 to feel. It's not a resolution, it's a feeling to embody. I want to tingle in my business, by working on projects that make me tingle and outsource those that don't. ( I am realistic so I know that there are always non-tingley aspects of business, but I'll make it a 80/20 rule of thumb to tingle 80% of the time). I want my relationships to tingle - my marriage, my family, friendships, new friendships, work connections, teaching, counselling, coaching. The tingle will be present. This means that my guiding light is to feel a tingle and to do my best to bring this feeling into the year. As I discovered Tingle, I also found 12 other words that I am called to use for the 12 months of this year.
I haven't ever had a word a month, but I'm really loving that these will also give my month a guide. I'm already looking forward to how I will bring more FUN into February. (honestly didn't plan the F's there! And so it's January 1st and I am feeling optimistic and enthusiastic about things for this coming year. I would love to know - what is YOUR WORD for 2015? How did you get there? If you don't have a word, do you do something else? Let me know in the comments. Happy New Year!!!! Love JD xxx
