Becoming Daring Wise Woman - creating a bespoke illustration for Gwynn Raimondi

I have been working with Gwynn Raimondi from USA, recently, designing a postcard for her Being and UnBecoming three month programme - and wow did she give me such a wonderful brief!  

Images of Wonder Woman and other super heroines, circles of women howling at the moon, a fierce knowingness in her eyes.

I totally loved this initial prompt.  

When I get an initial brief, I then connect more with you, intuitively, I ask questions, prod and nudge so that when I turn to my sketch book, I am beginning to get inside your vision. 

In asking more from Gwynn, it was clear that this Muse HAD to have pink hair.

As the sketch of her began to emerge and I emailed them to Gwynn, HER poem also appeared in the emails.    It was such a beautiful Becoming. 

I AM

Strong and fierce
Warrior

Soft and feminine
Earth mama

Class and sophisticaed
Wild and free

Goddess and queen
Sexy and exotic
Daring

As I was drawing her, this appeared:

• Eyebrow piercings and a Wonder Woman cuff.
• Tattoos and markings on upper arms.
• A coined belly dancing-like belt, so she makes beautiful music as she walks.
• Bracelets for upper arm and lower arm.
• Her shield to the side - ready to pull forth to protect her.
• Her brassiere revealing and stylised
• Her shocking pink hair and nose tattoo.

I loved creating her - she felt so full of power and also protection.

In receiving these photo updates from me, I was prompting Gwynn to ponder on the mantra for this Spirit Muse - and in a very swift moment - she was born:

Her name: Daring Wise Woman
Her mantra: Dare to explore the power of you.

OMG it was just an amazing moment between us.
