Bare Muse: Show your breast story a little bit of love

27/5/2014

The Bare Muse has begun and I feel so honoured to be doing this work.  Here's all about The Bare Muse Project it is very close to my heart - to encourage women to celebrate their bodies and I'm starting with breasts.

The process of taking photos to send me is releasing and scary and yet women are stepping forward to do this.

Today I'd like to profile Michele: Here's her story

Breasts have so many roles.

My breasts have always been portals to pleasure for me; they were exquisitely sensitive and welcoming my lovers' touch... Then breastfeeding brought so much pain and over stimulation. They were a beautiful, intimate way to give life to my babies, but in a way that also at times grated on my very soul, it was so draining and painful.

Now, I'm reclaiming them as my own, for my pleasure and my husband's, even as my tiny daughter still greets them with delight: "Nummas!" like they belong to her.

Looking at them today after all they've been and given, I can see the transformation from the high, firm breasts of my girlhood, but I wouldn't trade those for the soft, swinging, well-traveled 'girls' who've come so far with me, and who have years of love and life left in them.

You can read all about the Bare Muse Mantra  and contact me if you have any questions. Here I answer a few FAQ's

1.  Will you be drawing my face?
No, this will be an upper body illustration from neck to navel.  Malas, necklaces, charms, jewellery, piercings, will be adorned and added.  We're boosting our breast confidence here.

2. Will my breast photographs be made public?
No your original breast images will not be shown with this they will be held securely until I have finished with them and I delete all those files.

3. Will you be sharing my name?
This is up to you.  I won't reveal your name if you don't want me to.  However.... read next question.

4. Can I share my breast story?
I would love for you to tell me the story about you and your relationship to your breasts, honestly, I would.   You probably have a really important story to tell about them.   This makes this so real and helps so many women to develop confident, positive, glorious relations with their bodies whatever they have been through.

5. If I have had breast cancer and had reconstruction, will I be able to do this too?
Yes of course. Let's celebrate you. I invite you to share you story and allow me to draw you.  This is about all breasts and whatever their story.   Please know this will be very sensitively managed and you will be supported by me throughout.

6. Can I suggest someone?
This has to come from the woman herself.  Please don't purchase this for someone unless you know for definite this is what she wants to do.   This is a very authentic magical image and will be genuinely and tastefully managed and orchestrated by me.

7. What will you do with all the 75 when you have finished?
Along the way, I will be sharing the bare muse and having completed 75, I have a few ideas musing but we shall see how it all pans out.   The authentic aim here is to boost women's breast confidence and provide a new conversation.

Do you feel you'd like to be part of this conversation?

Introducing The Project Doula - let's get your project birthed

20/5/2014

Over the past four years of running my own business, creating my healing art, writing my books, counselling and coaching private clients and organising conferences and events, I have been asked a gazillion times about how do I manage to organise all the work I do, the projects that I have created myself, the events that I build and the commitments to my projects and my healing art work.

That's because I'm a Project Doula! {yep that term is created by me}

And I want you to be the first to hear about what I can do for YOU. A Project Doula helps you birth your project, with the support, mentoring, guiding, styling, keeping you accountable along the way while we work together.

  • You may want to finally research and write your book.
  • You may want to change career and need to find your new purpose.
  • You may need to write copy for your communications, to sell yourself on paper.
  • You may be planning an event, a conference, a big celebratory party.
  • You may be starting up your own business but feel very hazy and shaky.
  • You may need a Project Doula to GSD _ get shit done.
  • You may need a Project Doula to ____________________ {insert your own project here}.

This is not COACHING as you think you know it.

This is DOULING.

I will be mentoring you to give birth to your project. I have extensive experience in not only planning, organisation, administration, and business, I am an intuitive healer, teacher, emotional educator, empathic listener and visioning coach.

So you've heard what a Doula is right? According to Doula.org.uk, it's a Greek word meaning "woman servant or caregiver". It now refers to an experienced woman who offers emotional and practical support to a woman before, during and after childbirth. A doula believes in “mothering the mother” - enabling a woman to have the most satisfying and empowered time that she can during pregnancy, birth and the early days as a new mum. This type of support also helps the whole family to relax and enjoy the experience.

Let me tell you a story:

When I started my own healing art business, I wanted a mentor, a buddy, accountability, support, guidance, a visionista who could help me clear up the shaky lines of new business art projects. Someone to talk to who 'knew', who had an eye for the same creative detail that I did.

We all need to have empowered support, love, experience and guidance as we launch our projects.

I do too.

I sought out many business coaches and I felt like although I was investing my money in the process, they didn't fully intuitively get my projects or where I was heading.

Despite not finding the exact right fit business coach for me, I soon learned that what I wanted was someone I could discuss my dreams, my desires, my goals and turn them into actions and births. Creative, right brained, and also focused, with support to take action.

I needed a Project Doula!

Even though I'm really effective at getting projects off the ground and launched, I realised that we all need a Project Doula to support, care and empower.

So here's the thing:-

I have always been open, honest and genuine with you, right?

Do you resonate?

I may not be the right fit for everyone, but by now you know me don't you?

Here's some of my own Project Douling:- ▪ written two best selling books, selling over 12,000 copies.
  • currently writing my third book with a developed writing practice
  • designed and developed successful residential retreats and workshops
  • developed and delivered conferences
  • designed and manage my own website; www.julesdollyart.co.uk.
  • blog weekly
  • journal daily
  • create art every day
  • filmed and produced many Soul Portrait Healing Videos
  • designed Birthday Beautiful, Muse Love, A Muse A Day & Rebalance Me
  • filmed & produce videos for other people
  • created 4 successful careers conferences for 15-17 year olds with 18 guest speakers at each event.
  • organised an event called Barefoot in the Park, with well known author, Barefoot Doctor, at Sefton Park Palm House Liverpool with 250 paying guests and a complete sell out.

This is just a wee taster but I manage all of this whilst working in employment for 25 hours a week and working freelance and running my own business around all of this.

So what is this Project Doula offering you?

Three packages available

£80 for one month

Email me if you have any questions and to claim your free 30 minute Project Doula introduction and chat about your birth plan!

My Mantra for living:- PURSUE YOUR PASSIONS why we need to use our creative muscles daily and a quick tip how to begin to do just that.

Do you ever find that you're itching to 'do' something yet you can't quite bring yourself to start.

The gremlins appear and you think it all has to be perfect.

Then you don't actually begin at all?

I need to sketch every day and if I'm honest, I don't, but I think about it.

I do plan for it, but sometimes other schedules get in the way.

And then I
get itchy, like something is not quite right.

Like I'm missing something.

It's then that I remember that I need to get back into my sketchbook

When I do
I feel like I am home.

I realise when I'm in this phase, that I have to actually schedule it so that I gift my time to do what I love.  I can't be doing every other thing in my business and lose sight of my sketching and healing art.

10 minutes of doing what you love every day, will provide you with so much joy.

I believe that the key to happiness is Doing What You Love, whether this is full time, part time, or for a small section of your day, it will provide inner peace and calm, and allow you to move through your day, feeling calmer.

My Mantra - PURSUE YOUR PASSIONS

We all have creative muscles we need to stretch, whether it is baking, paper crafting, sewing, tapestry, knitting, making jewellery, stamping, up cycling, model making, decoupaging, glass painting, writing ... the list goes on and on!!

Why not schedule this time into your day.

Yes! Actually put it in your calender - it's non negotiable.

At the moment I'm a third of the way through ReBalance Me, 30 days of rebalancing stories and prompts, along with 30 Muse Mantras.

In setting myself this task I have committed to writing every day for 30 days so that I can begin to bring together my 3rd book which is all about my healing from M.E {myalgic encephalomyelitis} when I was in my 20s.

I start with 10 minutes of scheduled writing and often write for an hour, but 10 minutes is the initial window - so that I at least sit down and begin.

The other day, I treated myself to a Daler Rowney A6 Watercolour Sketchbook, just £1 for 12, and with no pressure sat down to create postcards.

I began to sketch and fill.

It's not about the finished product, but the process of doing what you love for 10 minutes.

What can you do for 10 minutes every day that makes your heart sing?

How can you Pursue Your Passions for 10 minutes a day.

Let me know in the comments.

Much love
Jules xxx
